Nanny By Design's goal is to form a lasting relationship between the family and the nanny. We use three key aspects to match a nanny with a family:

  • Experience and comfort level with ages of children
  • Personality and Child Care Philosophy
  • Activities, Interests, and Beliefs of Family

When a family contacts Nanny By Design, a member of our team will go over your wants, needs, and expectations in depth. First, a member of our team will discuss the family's placement over the phone. Next, a member of our team will conduct an in-home visit to get to know the family better and answer any questions they may have. This allows us to make personalized and long lasting matches.

For full-time and part-time placements, the family will receive multiple resumes to review, conduct interviews, and choose the nanny they feel is the best fit for their family. Nannies may also do a working interview where they provide care for 2-3 hours so the family and nanny can interact on a less formal basis. Full-time nannies may become a domestic employee of the family or remain an employe of the agency. We will help to guide the family through contracts and the process of withholding employer taxes. Finding a full-time or part-time nanny can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks, so it is best to start as early as possible!

For occasional placements, the family simply makes a request and we match them with a nanny. Occasional placements are for family's that need care at varying times. We can provide an initial meeting prior to the nanny providing care if requested. We do our best to provide as much consistency as possible with occasional placements, but consistency is not guaranteed.

Placement fees and hourly rates are paid to the agency. The agency will then pay the nannies their appropriate wages.
